The ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP) is steeped in layers of historical and cultural trauma that are not healed and often lead to victimization. The flexibilities of CSBG allow Tribal communities to promote cultural safety and trauma prevention practices while supporting factors that empower Indigenous People and communities. This session will provide an overview of ANA efforts to address the crisis of MMIP and will explore how CSBG funding can be used to support cultural preservation efforts in Tribal communities.
