

Workshop 8 | The Grant Process: What You Need to Know

The session will provide participants with an overview and understanding of important fiscal and grants management documents and systems, including the Notice of Award (NoA) letters and Payment Management System (PMS), as well as mandatory reporting requirements including the SF-424 Mandatory Form. Participants will also hear information on changes to federal grant application forms including the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) replacing the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS).

Angel Chen, Office of Grants Management (OGM), Administration for Children & Families (ACF) — Ms. Chen is the Grants Management Specialist for Community Strengthening Grants Portfolio (CSG) within the Office of Grants Management (OGM) focusing on Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP), Social Services Block Grant Program (SSBG) and SSBG Consolidated Block Grants to Territories (SSBG).
Lauren Wyatt
Lauren Wyatt, Office of Grants Management (OGM), Administration for Children & Families (ACF) — Ms. Wyatt is a Grants Management Specialist with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, within the Office of Grants Management. For the majority of her time in civil service she has worked almost exclusively with community strengthening or economic development programs, providing financial monitoring services, technical assistance and regulatory guidance to Federal grant recipients.
Christina Kirksey
Christina Kirksey, Office of Grants Management (OGM), Administration for Children & Families (ACF) — Ms. Kirksey works as a Grants Management Specialist contributing to the administration of mandatory grants, as well as providing technical assistance and financial monitoring services. She has been with the Community Strengthening Grants Portfolio since May of 2020.
Tim Chappelle
Tim Chappelle, Acting Director for the Office of Grants Management, Administration for Children & Families (ACF) — Mr. Chappelle has been an ACF employee since its inception in 1989. He has worked in the ACF Office of
Grants Management as a Grants Management Technician, Grants Management Specialist, Grants Management Officer and Acting Director. As a Grants Management Officer, he administers discretionary and/or mandatory grants for the following ACF programs: Administration for Native Americans (ANA), Office of Community Services (OCS) and Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
