About the Presenter

 

Cheryl Dixon Zuni is a Senior Advisor in the Office of Community Services – Office of the Director – Policy and Legislative Affairs Team.

 

Cheryl works in partnership with OCS programs as a resource providing guidance, support, and assistance on legislative issues and expertise on Tribal Strategy, Housing and Homelessness as well as provides assistance to programs as they develop, modify, and implement policies.

 

For over a decade, Cheryl has worked in partnership with tribal nations and governments across Indian Country providing oversight, administration and implementation of various activities including new housing construction, water infrastructure, development of critical community facilities, and self-sufficiency initiatives.

 

Most recently, Cheryl served as the Deputy Administrator of HUD’s Southwest Office of Native American Programs providing oversight of the Albuquerque Satellite Office which consists of the Grants Management and Grants Evaluation Divisions which partner with tribes to administer the largest single source of Native American housing resources in Indian Country via the block grant as well as various competitive and demonstration grant programs.

 

Cheryl is a citizen of the Pueblo of Isleta.
